What Is Basquiat Bizness?
Basquiat Bizness is a conceptual artwork that introduces the operational framework and attitude behind CrashMannequin. The work draws inspiration from the legacy and life of Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) while exploring his unique position and presence as one the greatest figures in art. The work was developed over the course of seven years (2017-2023) and remains integrated into the CrashMannequin blueprint.
The concepts explored through the lens of Basquiat Bizness provided a dynamic canvas in support of bringing fresh, creative thinking into business, systems development, and communication. Behind the artwork is one central question that serves as the throughline of the entire work. What if Jean-Michel Basquiat was the CEO of a Fortune500 company? All answers derived from this simple question drives the energy and passion behind CrashMannequin.

If art has no rules, it should have a standard to inspire and create positive change. Cannabis and the creative arts have forever been linked. One primary milestone presented and realized by CrashMannequin and its partners has been the ability to conceptualize a sustainable supply chain system for California’s cannabis farmers and consumers. In an effort that took more than two years, The Emerald Triangle Blockchain project has successfully piloted a program that brings more transparency to Cannabis markets, making cannabis trade more profitable for farmers and more trustworthy for consumers. In 2024 look for cannabis-infused exhibits, events and other activations as CrashMannequin continues to build collaborative initiatives.

The Neverending Conclusion (2023 – Right Now)
In conclusion CrashMannequin would like to say thank you for reading The Artist Statement. Though it may be a bit unconventional, sometimes you have to throw out old formulas to really achieve that thing that is worth risking it all for. As the artwork of CrashMannequin continues to grow, feel free to refer back to this document for timely updates. It’s not like world peace will happen overnight but with every view it’s starting to feel like WE are headed in the right direction. On top of that WE still have 1,000,000 works to complete for humanity, a book to write, and two albums to complete. Let No 1 Divide Us. The Work continues!
